When my friend opened a retro diner, she chose the cheapest uniform options. It backfired hard—just imagine itchy fabric, blurry logos, and crooked stitching on adorably designed uniforms.
Remember, uniforms aren’t just employee outfits—they’re part of your brand. So, if you want workwear that looks great, you need a Toronto uniform company that checks all the boxes in terms of quality, reliability, and price.
Don’t worry, though. This handy guide lists the best uniform companies in our lovely city that’ll have your employees look sharp in no time.
How much do uniforms cost in Toronto?
In Toronto, custom uniforms can cost anywhere from $20 to $150 a piece, depending on the material, design, and customization options.
Basic t-shirts with a logo are on the lower end, while embroidered polos, tailored workwear, or specialty uniforms (like medical scrubs) cost more. Bulk orders often come with discounts, and some suppliers offer package deals.
1. UniFirst

UniFirst has been in the game since 1936, starting as a humble laundry service before becoming one of the largest uniform and workwear providers in North America.
They’re known for Arc Flash Safety uniforms, offering OSHA-compliant, NFPA 70E-certified workwear—perfect for those in high-risk industries. Their selection includes big-name brands like Armorex and Bulwark.
High-visibility workwear is another specialty, from jackets and overalls to gloves and hard hats. If your crew needs to be seen—like, literally—they’ve got options for you.
We also appreciate their Direct Purchase Program, wherein buying uniforms outright will give you competitive pricing, thanks to their direct relationships with manufacturers.
But if you’d rather not deal with upfront costs, their rental program is a budget-friendly option, running anywhere from $4 to $15 per week per employee.
Sadly, we noticed that their customization options are not the most flexible compared to competitors.

Very professional, trustworthy, and dependable supplier
“Pro-Cim started our business relationship with UniFirst Canada in 2019. Initially it was an uncertain time for both of us during the pandemic, but from the beginning they have proven to be a very professional, trustworthy, and dependable supplier. I am particularly impressed with the level of customer service provided by Chelsea at head office with respect to our payables and taking care of our account. Keep up the great work!”

2. Head To Toe Uniforms

Head To Toe Uniforms has been outfitting professionals since 1990, with a focus on keeping people comfy while still looking sharp.
This shop is especially known for medical scrubs and spa uniforms, offering fashion-forward options in different silhouettes and colors.
They’re also a go-to for lab coats, chef wear, corporate attire, housekeeping uniforms, and hospitality outfits. They stock popular brands such as MOBB, Simon Chang, Carolyn Design, and Joanne Martin.
If branding is important to you, they can also embroider your company logo. We love that they don’t charge digitizing fees, only the embroidery fee of around $15, depending on the character count or the lines used.
A cool perk is that they send out sample uniform packages so your team can try them on before committing.
As for the downside, we heard a few complaints about their service, with some customers mentioning that they don’t feel heard.
Absolute best place to buy scrubs!

Material and shape of the scrubs are amazing.”

Best selection of medical uniforms and scrubs
“I went to buy some Nursing Scrubs after checking on their website, I wanted to feel the fabric before buying. The staff at head to toe was helpful and knowledgeable. I visited their Toronto shop, close to closing time and did not feel rushed at all. They have the best selection of medical uniforms and scrubs at fair prices. If they don’t have your size or a colour you want you can order it. Definitely shopping here again.”

3. The Uniform Group

For over 40 years, The Uniform Group has been manufacturing high-quality uniforms right here in Canada. In fact, their 10,000 sq. ft. office and manufacturing facility in Scarborough has made them a major player in the uniform scene.
Their specialty is uniforms for first responders and government agencies. So, if you’ve seen police officers, paramedics, or firefighters across Ontario, there’s a good chance they made their uniforms.
Speaking of which, they’re actually the official supplier of the Ontario Provincial Police, Toronto Police Service, and even the Ministry of Transportation.
You can start with a free measuring or fitting session. If you need extra guidance, they offer a consultation service (for a small fee) that will help you design a new uniform or refine your existing one.
Unfortunately, some customers have told us about their rude contact center customer service reps.

4. The Uniform Experts

The Uniform Experts may be a relatively new player (opened in 2014), but they’ve quickly become a go-to supplier for Canadian public safety agencies. That’s because they have an overseas manufacturing facility staffed by over 300 professionals.
Making transit service uniforms is a specialty, supplying jackets, blazers, shirts, and pants to workers who need durable gear. They also cater to law enforcement, providing high-visibility jackets and cargo shorts for SWAT teams.
Uniforms for fire, paramedics, and emergency services are available, too.
A nice feature is their virtual measurement service, meaning you don’t need to go to the store for a fitting. But if you prefer an in-person session, simply book a slot online.
Plus, each client is assigned a dedicated account manager, so you’d have a point person for your order.
Just a heads up—we heard about some ill-fitting uniforms, so you might want to double-check the measurements you send over.

5. Premium Uniforms

For over 35 years, Premium Uniforms has been one of the best suppliers of office and service wear in Canada.
They’re famous for their chef uniforms, offering 100% cotton chef coats that keep things cool when the kitchen heats up. You can also choose a mesh yoke chef coat, which brings a lightweight feel to the classic double-breasted design.
This company caters to healthcare workers (e.g. scrubs, patient gowns, lab coats, etc.) and high-visibility personnel (e.g. coveralls, vests, etc.) as well.
If you’re on a budget, their clearance section is definitely worth checking out. And if you like flipping through a catalog, you can request one online to browse their lineup.
Note that their receptionist has a rep for being rude and even hanging up on people. So, while their uniforms might be solid, their customer service might be a hit or miss.
