Founded in 2010, Optical Thirty8 has grown to be one of the most prominent eye care specialists in the Greater Toronto Area. They have an extensive list of services and are known for their great complimentary services.
The good thing about this clinic is that the complimentary services are available whether you make a purchase or not. These include, but are not limited to, glass adjustments and cleanings, in-store refreshments, and contact lens trials.
Their eye exams have a wide coverage. They can perform examinations for children and adults, for those with diabetes, and even for digital eye strain.
A lot of trendy frames and a variety of lenses can also be found here.
They are also knowledgeable in terms of laser eye surgery, dry eye therapy, and eye disease diagnosis. They also perform tests for specialty eyewear, and you can also ask them to assist you in terms of special eye needs and management.
We do note that some of their original staff has been replaced by a few new ones, and some customers are not comfortable with the attitude of some staff members.
Recently, some health insurance providers have also let go of Optical Thirty8, so some customers are having trouble dealing with their arrangements and could no longer afford going here.
Still, we find that Optical Thirty8 is one of the most reputable optical clinics in Toronto. They have a great selection and their list of services makes them a safe option.

One good thing about this clinic is that clients can do four zero-interest installment payments. They are also very helpful to clients, as they select frames that are fitted not only to their needs and face shape, but even to their personalities.
Since they carry various eyewear brands, they also have some of the best sunglasses in the area. Some of the trendy shades are even displayed in the windows of their shop.
Deliveries are also available for requested frames and lenses. Their specialty include frame fitting and kids eyeglasses, with various prints and designs for kids eyeglasses.
What we find inconvenient about this clinic is that getting an appointment could be tricky. There are reports of them being less than responsive.
We also find that some of their products are very expensive. We do note that some are luxury brands and that they are really quality products.
On the bright side, we find that their store is one of the most cleverly designed optical and eyewear clinics in Toronto.

What makes this shop an ideal place for eye care is that they not only offer eyeglasses, they also provide the option for contact lenses. They examine the customers’ eye conditions and recommend whether eyeglasses or contact lenses are the better fit.
Contact lenses can either be daily, biweekly, monthly, or yearly lenses. The sunglasses they offer also come in a variety of options, such as UV, photochromatic, golf glasses, polarized, and high contrast.
Take note that the store is small so they don’t necessarily encourage bringing companions. Their optician is also present only every Tuesday from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM, so customers have to compete for slots.
