Kampo Health is one of the most reliable acupuncture and herbal clinics in Toronto. They  believe that medicine should be personal, natural, and effective, thus they utilize herbal medicine, acupuncture, and therapy to address the essential aspects of health.

Some of the conditions that they treat are body pain, digestion problems, hormonal imbalance, and auto-immune problems. Dalu, who is their acupuncturist and traditional Chinese medicine practitioner is a member of both College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario and the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.

He intensely researched modern medicine and gained a deeper understanding of the human biology and pathology. From his research, he gained an understanding of using acupuncture and massages to focus on pain management while his herbal medicine focuses on the internal issue.

We highly recommend Kampo Health for their ingenious way of treating conditions using a mix of acupuncture, massage, and traditional Chinese medicine. They have competitive rates and great reviews. Dalu is incredible

“Dalu is incredible. I had a bad cough for months due to Covid and went to many doctors and none seemed to be able to cure it. Dalu was able to cure my cough. As well, I have sleeping problems and can’t sleep through the night ever and always wake up periodically and after Dalu gave me Accupuncture and herbs I have never slept better in my life. I couldn’t recommend him more!!! Thank you Dalu.” – Carly Mendelson

Acupuncture Center Toronto combines two things that we like in services – excellent experience and great prices. Here are a few reasons that landed them in our list:

For starters, they don’t offer acupuncture alone, you also get various wellness services. You can come here for a gua sha, cupping, or moxibustion – all meant to relax your body.

As for acupuncture services, they offer two types: clinical and cosmetic. Both last for one hour and cost within Toronto’s average.

What we liked best about their clinic is their single-room acupuncture practice. This means that they only treat one person at a time, making the session more intimate and relaxing.

Incredible service that puts you at ease

Sarah is simply brilliant, not only is she incredible at what she does as an acupuncturist, she is a fantastic person who makes it her mission to help you from the moment you meet her. I felt at ease and comfortable from the first treatment on and quite frankly, I’m not sure what I would do without her. I’ve never come across such a knowledgeable, patient and personable individual. Thank you and God Bless! – Francisca D’souza

Tailor-fits the service for the client’s needs

I’ve been coming to see Dahoon (Hailey) Park for a few weeks now. This is my first acupuncture experience and overall has helped my anxiety so much. Working from home was experiencing back and chest tension. She works with me each week to understand how I’m feeling and how to tailor the appointment to best support me. Overall, love this center! – Claire Barnette

With a perfect 5-star rating on Google Reviews, it’s hard to dismiss from Toronto Acupuncture Clinic. Apart from its high customer satisfaction level, here are more things that we like about them:

The clinic is operated by Samuel Lo, who has a combined experience of 20 years in Eastern and Western therapies. With this level of training, we reckon that you can trust him for all your complementary therapeutic needs.

Speaking of therapies, the clinic also does massage therapies, osteopathy, cupping, and more. The only thing you need to look out for are the prices, though many clients said it’s worth the money.

If you want a different approach to acupuncture, try their electro-acupuncture technique. The difference is that this uses thinner needles with an electric charge, which is said to enhance the benefits of traditional acupuncture.

  • 20 years of combined experience in Eastern and Western therapies
  • Electro-acupuncture available
  • One-on-one treatment
  • Accepts cash, interac e-Transfer, and cheques
  • Easy online booking option for specific services

Customer Reviews

Relieves pain in a shots amount of time

I have been so impressed and happy with the results at this clinic so far. I hurt my shoulder earlier this summer and didn’t bother seeing a doctor. Several months later I was still feeling a lot of pain and tightness, likely from a rotator cuff tear. After just 2 visits my shoulder feels about 90% better and I’m sure it will be back to normal soon. Samuel is clearly an expert at acupuncture, and it’s really helpful how he shares exactly what he is doing & why. I highly recommend his services. – Jeremy Butteriss

Tailored treatment to suit client’s needs

I found Sam through a google search as I was looking for an acupuncturist in the area. He was very responsive over email and was able to accommodate me even though he had many clients. He was very attentive and could identify the issues I had. He tailored a treatment to suit my needs. I went for multiple sessions and felt relaxed after each treatment and saw gradual improvements. He took the time to answer all the questions I had. I would definitely recommend Sam as he is very experienced and professional. – Sandy Yong

Saturday: 11:30 AM – 3:00 PM

Avenue Acupuncture isn’t just your typical acupuncture clinic. For starters, they’re a seven-time winner of the Consumer Awards, which is just one of the reasons they made it to our list.

Running this clinic is Ryan Longenecker, who has been practicing since 2008. He can also speak Cantonese, making him a nice choice for our Chinese friends out there.

Another thing that we liked is how thorough the initial assessment is. They may even use a computerized biofeedback device to accurately assess your condition.

In our opinion, what makes them stand out from other clinics in the laser acupuncture option. So if you have a fear of needles, this is a good option for you.

Just for a bit of background, laser acupuncture uses cold, low-level lasers that improve circulation, regenerates cells, and reduces inflammation. There are also no risks of infection or bleeding, so it could be a good alternative for some.

Pros

  • Seven-time winner of the Consumer Awards
  • A bilingual practitioner with 13 years of experience
  • Thorough initial assessment
  • Offers laser acupuncture
  • Ability to choose a preferred time during the online booking

Cons

  • Undisclosed rates
  • Inconsistent operating hours

Helps immensely in pain management

I visited Avenue Acupuncture when I could barely move my neck and was in a huge amount of pain. I had two sessions initially, one with acupuncture and cupping, and then a second session of cupping. While the pain didn’t go immediately, it helped immensely. I found Brendan very considerate and eager to help and was very accommodating about scheduling additional follow ups as needed. I would highly recommend Avenue Acupuncture and am very glad I found them. – Lauren Bull

Significant improvements after one session

I highly recommend Avenue Acupuncture. I started seeing Brendan Dolan about a month ago and I have already noticed significant improvements with joint pain and anxiety. Brendan’s calm and warm nature is contagious – it is hard not to feel relaxed at Avenue Acupuncture. I look forward to my standing Friday appointment each week! – Tori Joseph

After graduating, he continued studying under Japanese acupuncturists Mitsunori Seino, Takamasa Tsurusaki and one of Japan’s top manual therapists Takayuki Tsuchikawa.

So he currently practices Japanese style acupuncture developed by Mitsunori Seino. This specific style combines a unique form of abdominal (hara) diagnosis with gentle acupuncture and moxibustion techniques.

What we like about Zach is how he offers a comprehensive assessment, individualized treatment, and post treatment plan when you visit him.

What’s more is how he’s able to understand the underlying causes of symptoms, so he’s able to treat them with his acupuncture style.

We went to him to get treated and we received great results. We can vouch for his expertise and knowledge. We felt safe and comfortable under his care.

If you’re looking for a different style of acupuncture that works, we highly recommend going to Zach.

Customer Reviews

“Zach embodies a loving energy. He is a nurturing soul and I felt safe to explore the Japanese acupuncture because of his knowledge and trusted his expertise. The treatment was light and effective. I could feel a potent shift in my energy from high stress and anxiety at the beginning of the treatment to leaving feeling calm and at ease. I highly recommend Zach if you are looking for a kind and knowledgeable acupuncturist.”

“Zack has been helping me deal with stress relief, bloating and allergies successfully for over a year. After a treatment I feel immediate relief. The Japanese style of acupuncture that I receive from him is so valuable to me, his approach to well-being is fantastic! and I do not hesitate to book the next appointment (which is always a pleasant and organized experience). I would highly recommend Zack’s Japanese style of acupuncture treatment.”

“Zach helped me as I went through the process of IVF and I cannot recommend him enough. He’s super knowledgeable and did his best to accomodate my schedule (including coming in to see me during the biggest snowstorm in a decade!). I had never done Japanese acupuncture before and it’s SO much more comfortable. I had a very painful previous experience with more traditional acupuncture and was pretty anxious to try again. Acupuncture with Zach was completely painless – I barely notice the needles. He’s very calm and gentle and takes his time asking about your overall health and answering any and all questions. I always come out of his treatments feeling like I had a day at the spa.”

Great improvement after a few sessions

I can’t recommend Emily enough. She is truly magical. I have been suffering from pretty massive dizziness and headache from cervical issues since January this year. I went to physiotherapist and chiropractor all this time but nothing worked much. I read good reviews about Emily so came here to see if acupuncture might help me. To my surprise in just 2 sessions I have recovered 95%. She is treating me for other issues too and I am sure I will see results there too. Highly recommend this place and Emily. She is really knowledgeable, listens to the issues attentively and is very kind. – Shruti Chandoke

Knowledgeable and approachable practitioners

My husband and I have been going to the Best of Chinese medicine for acupuncture treatment for several months now. We’ve been seeing Emily and she has been wonderful! She’s very professional, patient, kind, and takes a gentle approach. I always feel comfortable with her recommendations. She’s also highly knowledgeable, approachable, and is always available to answer any of my questions! I highly recommend booking with Emily if you are considering this clinic. The clinic is also extremely clean and has a very calming atmosphere. – Jessica Moncur

Provides great relief after appointment

I discovered Acusoul during a company wellness event and was impressed. I had no idea that acupuncture had so many benefits, so I decided to try it. The office provides a feeling of relaxation and serenity and Justin Lee has always been fantastic, providing relief for whatever ails me and a personalized tea for the way home (I love that part).  I have referred many of my friends and coworkers who too were impressed at how acupuncture helped them.  It’s amazing when you realize how different parts of the body are actually linked together.  A must try! – Tracy Parkinson

Immediate relief after acupuncture session

Being new to acupuncture, Justin made me feel very welcome and relaxed during the exam. He is very attentive and thorough and explained every step of what he was doing. I noticed an immediate difference after the treatment. The tea at the end was a huge bonus! Can’t wait to come back! – Christina Chan

Effective in reducing my migraines

My experience with acupuncture with Vilawan at Hillgreen Oncology Acupuncture has been fantastic. I had never tried acupuncture before, but have gone from having 10 to 15 migraines per month, to 2 last month.  Not only has it been extremely effective in drastically reducing my migraines and allowing me to not need to pursue a daily medication to manage them, but Vilawan is also wonderful. She is so warm and incredibly knowledgeable. I would recommend her to anyone seeking an acupuncture provider!” – Kim Imineo

Thoughtful, empathetic practitioners

“I’d never done oncology-based acupuncture before but I’ve been very happy with the care I’ve received from Pauline and Carmen. They are both thoughtful, empathetic practitioners who adjust their treatments based on my progress through chemotherapy. Plus they’re very nice! I’d definitely recommend them or anyone else at at Hillgreen based on my experience.” – Elliott C. Smith

Real long-term health improvements

“My first experience with acupuncture and I just so happened to come across Wendy’s office – and I am so so glad I did! She is not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also very very kind – an absolute joy to visit. She is clearly amazing at what she does. Everything Wendy does is totally pain-free. I don’t know how it works as I have not yet done my research, but it clearly DOES work… I leave her office feeling absolutely amazing, and have been experiencing real long-term improvements in my health!” – Lena Ross

No more migraines, improved health, family and work life

“I was struggling with menstrual migraines for many years. When I wasn’t suffering, I couldn’t focus because I knew that another episode was coming. I tried a lot of different drugs, but they made the migraines worse or had other side effects. I’m so glad that I started going to Wendy for acupuncture. I felt results the first time I visited her. The fogginess and nausea that come with my headaches and migraines began to lift. Over time, I noticed bigger changes – My cycles are feeling “normal” now, and I haven’t had a migraine for some time. Acupuncture with Wendy has really improved my family and work life. I look back at where I was, and I’m so thankful for her support.” – Jaimie Lee

Customer Reviews

Here are some reviews from their clients:

I first started seeing Jason a few weeks ago to help treat my leg pain with acupuncture. As someone who also works in the healthcare field, I find Jason to be professional, caring, and easy to talk to. I appreciate that he takes time to consult and assess how you are doing in each session before he chooses his treatment, as not every acupuncturist does this in my experience. He also explains the pressure points, the treatment he is doing that session and the purpose of it, which I really like since I want to understand what I am receiving. My pain has reduced a lot after just a couple sessions, and I plan to continue going!

I highly recommend Traditional Healing Centre. Jason has greatly improved the main reason I started going there. He’s also resolved other minor health issues I had, which I didn’t realize could be healed by acupuncture. Jason wants to help his patients, listens to them, is easy to communicate with and never rushes your appointment. Plus his prices are reasonable!

Common Types of Acupuncture

Acupuncture is known to be a kind of complementary treatment for many people. A certain degree of pain can be alleviated and some health issues can be improved through it.

Here are some of the most types of acupuncture that you might be interested in:

Traditional Chinese Acupuncture

Traditional Chinese acupuncture may be the most common and popular type of acupuncture. It examines the body’s composition based on the Chinese idea of yin and yang such as hot and cold.

During this process, they will examine body parts like your tongue and create a treatment plan based on their findings. This type of acupuncture can relieve headaches, arthritis, colds, sleep issues, stress, anxiety, and depression issues.

Japanese Acupuncture

Japanese acupuncture doesn’t require as many needles as other acupuncture. In addition, they use a much thinner needle for the treatment.

The treatment is accessed by a diagnostic tool in order to create a treatment plan that will correct the body’s imbalance. This treatment can help with health and mental issues by resulting in things like less fatigue, better sleep, less or no headaches, relief from nausea, and relief from pain from strains, sprains, and bruises.

Laser Acupuncture

Laser acupuncture produces the same effects as traditional acupuncture. However, it is much faster and provides greater comfort than the traditional route.

Laser acupuncture doesn’t involve needles, making it less frightening for first-timers. And although traditional acupuncture isn’t very painful, laser acupuncture is even less painful than the traditional one.

Cosmetic Acupuncture

Cosmetic acupuncture is a kind of acupuncture that is said to fight aging by stimulating the collagen in the skin. As you age, your skin starts to lose collagen, which is responsible for making the skin firm, so anything that results in more collagen is seen as anti-aging.

However, there is not much scientific evidence that supports the aforementioned claim that acupuncture can stimulate collagen. Most of it is anecdotal.

Some people state that cosmetic acupuncture can help rejuvenate your skin by improving your overall energy, though.
