I never thought I’d be the “archery type.” But thanks to a friend of mine who dragged me to a local range once, I’m now hooked!
Fast forward a few months after my first try, and I now have my own gear, my favorite archery lane, and my go-to archery outfit—a fitted t-shirt and joggers.
Since then, I learned that archery can improve one’s focus and upper body strength, as well as relieve stress.
So, if you’re even a little bit curious, here are the most awesome archery spots in Toronto. See you on the range!

When playing digital archery, you get real bows and arrows, but the targets are interactive and high-tech, with digital scoring. Sessions run for an hour and come with expert instruction (e.g. proper stance, words of encouragement, etc.).
We love that the Stock Yards location has a fully licensed bar—cocktails, premium spirits, beers, coolers, and even wine. You can definitely turn archery into a date night!

In QuiVR, you’ll defend your fortress with friends while waves of enemies come at you— each level gets harder, so you’ll need solid aim and smart strategy. Then, there’s All-in-One Sports, which lets you master archery through precise target challenges.
The best part is that once you put on the VR headset, you’ll be fully immersed, and you’ll even feel the tension of the bowstring! Also, you can play multiplayer with friends.
They offer group packages geared toward birthdays, bachelor parties, and corporate hangouts. Packages range from small squads of 1 to 10 people to private events for up to 24.
Pro Tip:
Not sure what to wear? Levelup suggests you wear comfy clothes and ditch loose accessories or dangly jewelry so that nothing messes with the VR gear.

Their standard rate is $18 per hour (plus tax), and equipment rental is just $8. And if you want to save a bit, grab one of their time packages—you’ll get discounted rates and can be shared with friends or family.
You can also join their Group Lessons, where you’ll get an hour of coaching and 30 minutes of practice. Everything’s included, and it’s open to anyone 12 and up.
But if you already know your way around a bow and arrow, you’re welcome during open shoot times. In fact, they only allow experienced archers during those sessions for safety reasons.
Pro Tip:
If you really want to be like Hawkeye, go for their private lessons for one or two people. Grab a friend and level up your skills together without a crowd.

Hours: Mon – Sun: Open 24 hours

For 65 years, York County Bowmen has built a community of archers with various styles. We’re talking compound, recurve, traditional, or anything in between.
Their indoor range has five wide lanes set up for shooting at 18 meters (around 20 yards), complete with a full-size wall, paper targets, 3D targets, and mobile butts. There’s even a turning station to fine-tune your gear.
One of our favorite ranges is their outdoor one, which has Olympic-style target butts reaching up to 90 meters, a 3D range of up to 80 yards, and plenty of shaded shooting areas. In between rounds, we just love hanging out at the BBQ area and fire pit.
That’s not all—the property has forest trails with softwoods and hardwoods, and you’ll find a mix of 3D and field targets that create fun, challenging shots. And don’t miss their special winter loop, so you can enjoy a snowy archery session.
Pro Tip:
Between shots or after a long session, head to the lounge area (open to members and guests). It has couches, tables, a stereo system, and even vending machines—a lovely place where you can hang out with fellow archers.

Just steps from the TTC and minutes off the 401 lies Archers Arena, a 10,000-square-foot entertainment complex. It has two playing fields for different styles of combat archery, sniper towers, and a shooting range for target practice.
The indoor range is fully equipped with 22 to 45-lb bows (you can bring your own as long as it’s below 50 lb). Also, you can practice at distances from 10 to 30 yards.
They also offer Combat Archery, which is like dodgeball but with bows and foam-tipped arrows. You’ll be dodging shots, diving for cover, and trying to take out the other team.
And if you want a bit of a challenge, try one of their target archery games like Black Jack, where going over 21 means you’re out. Another is the Shrinking Target, wherein the target (a blank piece of paper) gets smaller after each round.
Pro Tip:
Archers Arena offers archery lessons for all skill levels. You can choose from Beginner Archery with foam-tipped sessions to an 8-week Advanced Course with metal-tipped arrows.

Their Combat Archery session is designed for all ages, and every session starts with 15 minutes of training. They’ll also gear you up with face masks, arm guards, and the right bow for your strength level (from 10 to 35 lbs).
Now, imagine shooting arrows in an arena lit with black lights—awesome, right? It’s like being in a futuristic video game, with neon gear, targets, and arrows; this is ideal for friend hangs and birthday parties.
Speaking of which, if it’s your big birthday week, you get to play for free! You’re also welcome to bring your own food, or you can take advantage of their Pizza Pizza catering hookup for a small discount.

For the budget-conscious (like me!), check out their website for ongoing deals. For instance, you can score a $30 Weekday Special, available Monday to Thursday.

They offer various archery setups—recurve, compound, barebow, field, indoor, and even 3D. And when you’re ready, you can join one of their hosted tournaments.
To help you prepare for tournaments (or simply hone your skills), they have an Archery School for kids and adults. Classes usually start with recurve bows, but they also teach bare bow, compound, and even Asiatic bows.
And we’re impressed with their coaches and other club members too—some are national-level, and a few are Olympians and world champs.

Located along the Don River, Ernest Thompson Seton Park offers something that not all parks have—an outdoor archery range. And yep, it’s named after Ernest Thompson Seton, a Canadian legend who was one of the founders of the Boy Scouts of America.
We love that this archery range is free to use—it’s also unsupervised, so you’ll need to bring your own gear and a water bottle. Make sure you read the rules that are posted on-site before shooting.
If you’re taking private archery lessons, you can use this place just so you can take a break from your usual training spot.
In between shots, take a second to enjoy the fresh air and the views. You may spot red squirrels, songbirds, or the occasional deer—just remember not to shoot at them!
Pro Tip:
After your archery session, you can play on the disc golf course, ride a bike along one of its bike trails, or play basketball. And if you’re feeling hungry, have a picnic at one of their sites—they even have drinking fountains!

Archery lessons for beginners (from the age of 6 and up) start with a 15-minute intro, covering safety, form, and techniques. You’ll be using a lightweight fiberglass longbow and shooting targets at 25 feet.
After this, you can jump to a 6-hour intermediate course, where you’ll learn different styles like barebow, instinctive, and hunting techniques.
Now, if you’d like to buy your own gear, they have a pro shop with everything from longbows and recurves to crossbows and Olympic-grade setups.
Pro Tip:
Already own a bow? Bring it in for a free inspection! Their experienced techs can tune, repair, or upgrade your setup using pro-level tools and presses.
