best-activity-bars-toronto-banner

Sure, I love just chilling at a bar, and catching up with friends while sipping cocktails. But there are other nights when you’re totally amped and just want to burn off some steam.

Yep, those are the nights when the group chat’s lit—and you’re all ready to get rowdy at an activity bar!

These cool spots don’t just serve alcoholic treats, but also super fun games and challenges like ping pong, axe-throwing, bowling, arcade, and many more.

If you’re not sure where to start, these are the best activity bars in Toronto that my friends and I have hit up. Go ahead and have the most epic boozy game night with you and your crew!

Hours:

SPIN Toronto is located right on King Street West, a 12,000-square-foot fun hub packed with 12 ping pong tables, two bars, two rooms, plus cocktails and eats.

Just imagine a fun, friendly game between friends while sipping delicious cocktails. It doesn’t matter if you’re a newbie or a pro—the point is to have lots of laughs during ping-pong rounds with tipsy players.

As for food, I always go for the Corned Beef Sammi—it’s ridiculously stacked with sliced corned beef, Swiss cheese, and dill pickles. Honestly, it’s like a meal and a half.

Pair it with their Annapurna Colada, which comes with Havana rum, Malibu, coconut pandan, and vanilla syrup. Another fave is their Lemon Lychee with sake and white cranberry—it looks and tastes great!

Pro Tip:

Planning an amazing group night out? Go all in and host a private ping pong party at SPIN–you’ll get food, drinks, and your own table.

  • Thursday: 12 PM – 12 AM
  • Fri – Sat: 12 PM – 2 AM

For anyone who wants more than just sitting around all night, The Ballroom Bowl is the spot for you. It’s honestly one of my favorite activity bars on this list.

This two-floor bar offers live DJs, bowling, billiards, and seriously good eats in one giant party zone. We also love that it has over 50 TVS—ideal if there’s a huge game on.

Food-wise, the steak frites is a solid choice—it’s an 8 oz New York striploin paired with truffle Parmesan fries. Another yummy option is the jerk chicken mac and cheese.

The drinks menu is stacked, but if I had to choose, I’d order the Lychee Martini, which gives me the perfect mix of sweet and zesty. There’s also beer, wine, and a bunch of other signature cocktails.

Pro Tip:

You can book The Ballroom Bowl for private events, with food, drinks, and all the activities. It’s perfect for a birthday bash, team outing, or just a fancy group hang!

Tilt Arcade Bar

Address: 1255 Queen St W
Hours:

  • Mon – Fri: 5 PM – 2 AM
  • Sat – Sun: 2 PM – 2 AM

Contact: (437) 880-5586

Tilt Arcade Bar is my favorite retroactivity bar. It’s built like an old-school arcade but with way better food and craft beer.

Speaking of arcades, it has lots of classic pinball machines like Baby Pac-Man, Addams Family, and Wheel of Fortune. You can also play iconic arcade games like Street Fighter, the OG Mario Bros, and Mario Kart.

After smashing buttons and yelling at the screen (sure, blame it on the screen), you’re gonna need to refuel. I recommend either Peter Pepper’s Burger or the Spicy Chicken sandwich, with pub-style fries.

What’s cool is that minors are welcome with a parent or guardian until 8 PM, so families can have a fun day out too.

Pro Tip:

Bring a $10 bill and score unlimited gaming for the whole night—no quarters, no tokens. Trust me, it’s the best ten bucks you’ll ever spend on Dundas West!

Lob Toronto

  • Saturday: 2 PM – 11:30  PM
  • Sunday: 1  PM – 8 PM

Contact: (416) 583-1516

Lob Toronto is so hard-core that it created its own game—literally called “lob.” It’s like mini-golf and bocce, where you throw a ball down a track, aiming for target zones to rack up points—way more fun if you’ve got a drink in hand!

The space is split between the gaming area and the restaurant, Track 10. A game costs $18 per person for a round of nine tracks, and you get a scorecard to track your points.

Once hunger hits, grab a Lob Burger; it’s juicy, loaded with chedda, onion, candied bacon, and that magic Lob sauce. I also love the fries that come with this sweeter-than-usual ketchup that’s house-made and kind of addictive.

As for drinks, you can’t go wrong with their solid craft beer lineup, with local east-side breweries like Saulter Street and Radical Road featured on tap.

Pro Tip:

If you’re feeling confident, join a lob tournament to see how you stack up.

FreePlay

Hours:

FreePlay is a really cool bar on College Street with a killer combo of arcade classics and modern video games—all for one small cover fee!

They’ve got all the good stuff: Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, and a bunch of pinball machines. Sure, playing against each other can get rowdy, but that’s the point, right?

We love their pub fare that’s all about comfort, such as their fried mac and cheese—crispy on the outside and gooey inside. The bar’s also got a nice lineup of beers on tap, plus non-alcoholic options for anyone skipping the booze.

And don’t miss their wild DJ nights, where you can blow bubbles while jamming to the awesome beats.

Pro Tip:

Check FreePlay’s awesome weekly lineup of fun events online! For instance, you can drop by on a Tuesday for trivia night or on a Wednesday for karaoke.

Track & Field

Address: 582 College St
Hours:

  • Wed – Thurs: 5 PM – 12 AM

Track & Field is one of those bars that just instantly puts you in a good mood. It’s bright, and always buzzing with energy, and they’ve got actual lawn games inside!

Bocce is my favorite here—even though I never really know if I’m winning, it’s still a blast! And if you’re with a bunch of friends, shuffleboard is the way to go.

While playing, make sure to check out their cocktails—I’m a big fan of lavender Lemonade, which is light, sweet, and super photogenic! For something stronger, go for their House Old Fashioned—it has a smooth, earthy flavor with a little vanilla kick.

The vibes get even better on weekends when they’ve got DJs spinning—surely the best spot to spend your Saturday night after enduring a week of intense studying or working.

Pro Tip:

For those in love with Track & Field, good news—you can reserve the entire place for private parties and events.

Duke’s Refresher

Hours:

  • Mon – Wed: 4 PM – 12 AM
  • Thursday: 4 PM – 1 AM
  • Friday: 4 PM – 2 AM
  • Saturday: 12 PM – 2 AM
  • Sunday: 12 PM – 12 AM

Duke’s Refresher is tucked right by St. Lawrence Market. I love its old-school tavern vibe—wood panels, vintage signs, and cozy booths, with cool games here and there.

Their mini-basketball court is a fun surprise—just imagine how fun it is to play hoops while being tipsy. You can also play arcade games, pinball, or table tennis—if you’re still sober enough.

Don’t skip their food menu—I always get the Meat Lovers pizza. It’s loaded with pepperoni, sausage, and bacon; you can share it with others or not (I’m not judging).

As for drinks, I recommend Krusty’s Iced Tea. It’s dangerously smooth and tastes just like regular iced tea, but be careful—it sneaks up on you!

Pro Tip:

If you’re a trivia nut, make sure to visit on a Tuesday night, where trivia fun awaits. It’s laidback and super social, and there are usually prizes involved, so come flex your brain!

The Rec Room

Address: 255 Bremner Blvd
Hours:

  • Mon – Wed: 11:30 AM – 12 AM

  • Fri – Sat: 11 AM – 2 AM
  • Sunday: 11 AM – 11 PM

Sitting right by the CN Tower, The Rec Room is an absolute playground for adults (and kids, too). This 40,000-square-foot venue in the Entertainment District is the go-to spot in TO for arcade games and casual rounds of pool, with a side of cold drinks.

Part of the spot’s charm is that it’s in a restored heritage roundhouse that used to service trains, so there’s a cool industrial vibe going on.

Inside, you’ll find The Yard, a massive arcade that has everything—from nostalgic classics to the latest hits like Crossy Yard. If you’re into VR, this is actually the only place in Canada where you can play The Void.

Now, their menu leans into comfort food territory with juicy burgers, saucy wings, and local craft beers. And for something unique, try their legendary pickled Caesar!

Pro Tip:

Check out The Rec Room’s event calendar online before you visit. They regularly host live shows, trivia nights, and gaming tournaments that can definitely enhance your night out with friends.

  • Tue – Thurs, Sun: 12 PM – 11 PM
  • Fri – Sat: 12 PM – 12 AM

Contact: (416) 367-2769

If you’re a fan of sci-fi or fantasy, Storm Crow Manor is your dream hangout, hands down. Nicknamed Canada’s Nerdiest Bar, this two-story Victorian mansion is packed to the rafters with geeky goodness.

Don’t miss old episodes of Game of Thrones playing on the big screen or the stacks of board games waiting to be played. You can also explore the bar’s secret passageways, hidden rooms, and themed corners.

Its menu is just as creative, with pun-filled dishes like Rebel X-Wings and Wolverine Putine. My personal fave is the Dracarys Dragon Egg—a crispy and spicy Scotch egg.

For drinks, try the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster—a smoking minty gin cocktail. Another crowd fave is their Butterbeer, a sweet combo of root beer and butterscotch schnapps.

Pro Tip:

Keep in mind that Storm Crow Manor is not fully accessible. There are a few steps at the entrance, and all washrooms are either upstairs or downstairs.

Rock ‘N’ Horse Saloon

Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/rocknhorseto/
Address: 250 Adelaide St W, Second Floor
Hours:

  • Wednesday: 6 PM – 12 AM
  • Thurs – Sat: 7 PM – 2 AM

Contact: (437) 747-5916

Live out your cowboy or cowgirl fantasy at Rock ‘N’ Horse Saloon. This fun, country-themed bar is all about great music and that big, yeehaw energy!

The mechanical bull is the main event here—you can ride it yourself or cheer on your tipsy friends. You can also hit the dance floor and let loose to a mix of country hits or park yourself at one of the horseback saddle barstools.

Of course, all that boot-scooting calls for solid eats and drinks, like their buttermilk fried chicken, bison burger, and bone-in ribeye. For something spicy, the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich certainly hits the spot.

Pair your delicious meal with a cold pint of beer. You can also line up tequila shots or sip one of their delicious signature cocktails.

Pro Tip:

We recommend booking in advance, especially if you’re visiting Rock ‘N’ Horse Saloon on a weekend.
