The first branch of Renovo Medical Clinic was established in Stoney Creek, Hamilton in 2014. As far as experience is concerned, we can say that the Toronto branch can be considered a little young.
We do note that the head of Renovo, Dr. Sameh Michael, graduated in the year 1991 and has been receiving dermatological training and gaining experience in the field since then. This makes his supervision reliable.
Acne scar removal in this clinic starts with a free and no obligation consultation. This makes a great strategy in our opinion, as it makes good marketing while being able to showcase expertise and genuine concern for patients.
Their procedures are mostly chemical peels and laser treatments, which are common for acne scars. What’s unique is the fact that they use Alumier chemical peels, which can either be AHA, BHA, or enzyme peels.
For laser treatments, they usually use Fotona 3D and 4D laser peels. While being brand specific makes them stand out, this can also be a dealbreaker as other clinics have way more options.

We included Dermapure simply because they have services that can address acne scar problems. Fractional laser resurfacing, intense pulsed light, and acid peels are all performed in line with acne scarring.
They made the cut because they focus on their services well and carefully assess whether or not these can actually help their patients. We like the fact that they also have anti-acne facials to prevent their patients from having more or new acne scars.
Dermapure is a great place because apart from treating acne scars, they also recommend other relevant services and procedures to improve the patient’s skin. Sometimes, they even suggest those that will assist in acne prevention and/or cure.
We do note that not all of the services that Dermapure offers are performed in Toronto. This isn’t really alarming, but it can take a toll on the branch itself.
The Toronto clinic isn’t that big as well, so you really have to secure an appointment. We do admire how they maintain their space elegantly despite its size.
